Ncube to present at ASAA in Nairobi

Innocent Batsani Ncube will attend the African Studies Association of Africa (ASAA) Third International Biennial Conference 2019. The conference takes place at the United States International University-Accra, in Nairobi from 24-26 October 2019.

His paper is entitled The ‘historicity of Parliaments’ in Southern Africa

This paper draws on the longue duree approach to explain some of the factors that influence how contemporary representative political institutions work in Africa. In his presentation, Innocent discuses the historical origins of legislatures, yesteryear parliamentary built environments and their significance in shaping modern representative institutions in Lesotho and Malawi.
