Building Africa - film preview



Members of the ASA team will present their new film - 'Building Africa: five stories about how architecture shapes the continent' - at the Venice Biennale on 4 September 2023.


The film has been made by Julia Gallagher and Sunil Pun, with Innocent Batsani-Ncube, Kuukuwa Manful, Joanne Tomkinson and Daniel Mulugeta.


It features stories from South Africa, Zimbabwe, Ghana, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Ethiopia.


The screening takes place on Monday 4 September 2023, 14.00-16.00 CET, at the Teatro Piccolo Arsenale, Venice.


Admission is free.

This event is accompanied by a roundtable discussion between editors and authors of ASA's new book, Building Africa: 10 Manifestos for Transformative Architecture and Urbanism published by Iwalewalebooks.
