Listen to Julia Gallagher talk about her African architecture project on BBC's Start the Week

Julia appears with novelist NoViolet Bulawayo and journalist Dipo Faloyin on Radio 4's Start the Week, in a programme challenging stereotypes of Africa. She talks about her work on state architecture, and how buildings help us understand African politics.

Listen here.

Her new book, Architecture and Politics in Africa: making, living and imagining identities through buildings - edited with Joanne Tomkinson and Daniel Mulugeta - is published by James Currey in September.
